I have come out in a lovely rash around my neck chest and throat - nice and bumpy and itchy as anything. Spoke to my GP as tonight is my Methotrexate night as not sure if i should take it. Did try to contact rhumatology but no reply. He suggests that i dont take my meds tonight and go and see him tomorrow if rash still there. Also suggested i had a reaction to my meds till i pointed out once again that i havent taken them yet this week!!.

Has anyone else got this problem or is this totally unrelated??

The good news is the rash is less so think i must be recovering. As for rheumatology - still waiting for some advice from them!!!
Likewise is have to use factor 50 as being of fair skin i go from white to red to white again but get lovely blotches and spots and such like.

Oh for a quiet life!!

Hi Liz,After taking MTX for two weeks I came out in a red, itchy rash on my arms(from elbows to wrists).Sad Rang my GP and he said to stop taking the MTX as I was due to see the consultant two weeks later. When I saw the consultant he said it could be a reaction with the MTX to sunshine and he put me back on MTX but lowered the dose by half and I've had no probs since. However I do now use a high factor sunscreen when out in the sun.I found the best thing for getting rid of the rash was Eurax cream which can be bought over the counter at most chemists. Hi Liz,

I came out in a rash all over my hands a couple of weeks ago, I brought some anti histamine cream but had no effect, the pharmacist recommended Eurax cream and it cleared up pretty quickly.

I came out in a rash last night, all round my neck, bumpy and itchy. I've put Sudocrem on it, will see how it responds.
